Blackwood Stroke Association : Digital Training

Out And About in the Community

In October 2018 three of the Forum officers visited Blackwood Stroke Association, continuing our programme of meeting older people’s groups throughout the County. Our first visit was to give a presentation about the Forum, explaining what we are about. It was a very interesting morning, with a very interactive group. Many of the typical issues were raised, not least about the issue of Blue Badges.

It also transpired that the group were very interested in learning more about using their digital devices and we were happy to arrange a follow-up session about the internet.

So, we returned in January with a general presentation about the internet and how to stay safe online. We distributed packs of information to cover the presentation, as well as putting the information on our website; Staying Safe Online.

We are now developing plans to return to give specific training to meet the demands of individuals to help them expand their knowledge in areas of specific interest.
