Stopping Abuse

During the past year, a range of partners have been working as part of the “Stopping Abuse Action Group” established by the Older People’s Commissioner for Wales.

Our chairman has been part of the “Stopping Abuse, Steering Group” formed by the Action Group. Their role is to ensure there is a strategic approach to tackle issues that have arisen as a result of the pandemic and a number of long-standing issues relating to safeguarding and protection.

You can find out more about this work here.

As part of this work, the Action Group have developed a new information leaflet to provide information and support for older people experiencing abuse, or those who may be at risk.

The leaflet provides information to help people recognise the signs of abuse and the different forms it can take, what people can do if they are concerned about someone else, and where they can go for help and support.

An electronic version of the leaflet is attached, [Leaflet] which I hope you will be able to share with others.

Hard copies of the leaflet are also available from the Older People’s Commissioner’s office. Contact by email – ask@olderpeoplewales.com – or phone 03442 640 670.
