The welsh Government have finally published their long-delayed consultation:  Strategy for an ageing society: age friendly Wales

Cymru Older People’s Alliance (COPA) have produced a comprehensive response to the consultation. Over 50 Caerphilly, as members of COPA, have contributed to the response as it relates to the future Strategy. You can read the draft response HERE.

For the last year COPA have been in dialogue with the Welsh Government, seeking to establish some support for Forums across Wales. Nothing positive has been forthcoming but additional questions have been added by the Government to the consultation that relate to the value of 50+ Forums.

Over 50 Caerphilly (formerly Caerphilly 50+ Forum) Steering Committee have approved a comprehensive response to the 3 questions posed in the consultation that relate to Forums. They have also urged members to respond to the consultation, especially in support of Forums and what they can contribute.

The document also provides an interesting and comprehensive history of the Forum over the last 5 years.
